Now, it’s that easy to visit the island for the day from Vancouver or Victoria! Hop on a ferry or take a seaplane and enjoy the local spots while not having to worry about transportation or knowing where to go.

Hey everyone, thank you for taking the time to check out my website. My name is Rachelle Hayden and I was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

My first time in British Columbia I was in high school when I got to tag along with my brothers baseball team to White Rock. That was the first time I saw the ocean, I stuck my feet in and at that moment I knew I was destined to live closer to the ocean.

After travelling Australia for a year at age 18, I returned to Saskatchewan to save money and to eventually move to British Columbia. A couple of days before my 21st birthday, I packed my car up with all my belongings and road tripped to the big city of Vancouver with my best friend.

Over the next ten years, I lived and worked in Downtown Vancouver and met people from all over the world visiting this beautiful province. Two years ago, my husband and I made the leap across Georgia Strait and moved to Galiano Island.

My passion is the ocean, sea life, animals, trees, plants and people. I am grateful and excited to have the opportunity to share Galiano island with you. It truly is a hidden gem and a must see on the west coast of Canada.

In spring 2018, we completed a Marine Naturalist program at the Whale Museum on San Juan Island furthering our knowledge about Marine mammals inhabiting the Salish Sea that surrounds Galiano Island.

We are happy to accommodate any request to customize a fun day on Galiano. Last minute requests are welcome if available but booking in advance is highly suggested.

Hello Rachelle,

We wanted to thank you again for being our guide on the Explore & Hike Tour of Galiano Island May 6, 2017.

The beautiful sunny day was made complete with spectacular sights from the many places we visited including breathtaking views atop Mount Galiano that provided the background to our numerous photos.

The lunch was outstanding with such variety including fresh bread for sandwiches, sweet fruit and a tasty dessert.

Last, but by no means least, your warm and friendly personality and sound knowledge of your island was much appreciated as we were all new to the island tour experience. And a genuinely thoughtful touch on your gifts to each of us at the end of the tour too.

Thanks again,

Scott L. (Nanaimo, BC), Shannon and Paige G. (Vancouver, BC), and Regan J. (Vancouver, BC)

Rachelle has come up with the perfect idea for Galiano – a personalized, guided tour of the island’s best locations. From the time she picked us up at our cottage to when she dropped us back there late in the afternoon, we enjoyed every moment.

Tours are matched to the couple or group – for us we had some more adventurous mini-hikes and took some steep paths down to the beaches, but if that’s not for you then Rachelle will find the perfect options to suit you.

Our guide was fun, informative, and made a great lunch. We chatted happily in the car between locations, and found lots to talk about everywhere we went. Rachelle really did make a good tour into a great one.

We highly recommend Tour Galiano, especially if this is your first time visiting the island.

Rachelle was an excellent guide for our visit to Galiano Island. She took us to viewpoints with spectacular views, and we hiked up Mount Galiano which would not have been straightforward without a guide.

Rachelle gave us a fascinating insight into the ecology, geography and history of this beautiful island.

A tour with Rachelle in her jeep provides a memorable experience of a peaceful and charming piece of British Columbia.
